The PUERTO RICO CULTURAL PARADE OF FLORIDA and FOLKLORE FESTIVAL is held annually the LAST SUNDAY IN APRIL. The event has been co-sponsored by the City of Tampa since 1990. It attracts large and enthusiastic crowds that has grown steadily over the years. It is an outstanding one-of-a-kind event. This event has become the most SPECTACULAR HISPANIC EVENT in Tampa Bay and Central Florida areas. Admission to the event and participation in the parade are free.
Our organization produces this spectacular family-oriented event and provides the opportunity for all residents and visitors to Tampa Bay area to participate in a fun-filled day steeped with the native sounds of the Puerto Rican folklore . It showcases a mosaic of the very best of our musical rhythms and dances. Entertainers come from Puerto Rico, New York, other states and local talent. This first rated special festival also features a colorful and cheerful parade, a food court with the flavors and aromas of regional & international cuisine, arts & crafts, Puerto Rican painters exhibit, a Business Fair, sponsors participation, and other exhibitors representing different companies/businesses/retailers/concessionaires. They all contribute to the ongoing success of this premier Hispanic event.

Part of this event's celebration includes activities where our organization recognizes Puerto Ricans living in the state of Florida who have distinguished themselves through their contributions, community services, professional and entrepreneurial accomplishments.
We also contribute to the success of other activities presented the week-end of our Parade and Festival. Part of our artistic talent performs at James A. Haley Veterans Administration Hospital during their Annual Cultural Heritage Day celebration.

Are you considering entering the Hispanic market so you can win more business by effectively conveying your messages to this vital group?

Statistics demonstrate that the Hispanics market in Florida represents over $70 billions in buying power. Tampa Bay controls over $11 billion dollars and enjoy a household income of over $57,000. It is evident that Hispanic Americans have enormous purchasing power that no company should take for granted. For example, the Tampa Tribune of November 30, 2003 declared that "Puerto Ricans have become the largest Hispanic group in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties" according to census figures. These demographics make our market the most desirable for companies and businesses wanting to expand their market share and generate added revenues. But to tap into this important segment of our population, marketers must know how to reach Hispanic consumers in market-specific, culturally appropriate ways.

Background:
The Puerto Rico Cultural Parade of Florida, LLC., with headquarters in Tampa is an organization established and founded in 1988 by the civic leader, Gloria E. Rivera. It was the first Puerto Rican Parade organized in the State of Florida and the one that laid the foundation for other cities to organize their own Puerto Rican Parade and Folklore Festival Day. It is recognized by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico as the first Puerto Rican Parade established in the state of Florida and the official Parade that represents the Puerto Rican community in the State of Florida.
Our Vision:
Our organization will be the main vehicle that unifies all the Hispanic groups in our communities. It is our vision that each particular cultural group will be able to manifest and promote their own cultural heritage pride. This event will be of incalculable cultural impact, will enhance and attract tourism and the establishment of new businesses to the City of Tampa areas, thus contributing to the local economy. This will contribute to promote a stronger commerce connection in a bilateral manner between Puerto Rico, Tampa Bay and surrounding areas. It is in our hearts that this vision will grow in this and other communities.
